PERFECT SKIN TUTORIAL
Through this step-by-step tutorial, Shella is giving us all the tips and tricks to re-inject and hydrate the skin for a natural glow.
Step 1 - To start off Shella recommends using her favourite Mecca Bright Eyed Hydrogel Eye Masks. Place the hydrogel mask underneath the eye and press lightly on the mask going towards the outside of the eye to act as decongestant. Leave the eye masks on for 20 mins – perfect if you need to get ready!
Step 2 - Do you want to make sure your everyday routine properly sinks into your skin? Shella recommends using L’Occitane Reine Blanche Exfoliant, this product lightly exfoliates and polishes the skin that will further radiate and glow.
Tip: Regularly getting rid of the dead skins using an exfoliator makes your skin easier to work with.
Step 3 - Now let’s look at products that will boost your skin – eye creams and serums are vital for that. One of Shella’s favourite is the C-Firma Day Serum from Drunk Elephant. This product is great at pushing antioxidant into the skin, apply evenly on the face and up-close to the eye area avoiding going over the eye.
Step 4 - To support the serum, Shella recommends using the Grown Alchemist Age Repair Eye Cream Tetra-Peptide & Centella. Apply a small amount around the eye area making sure to be very gentle as the eye contour’s skin is very vulnerable.
Step 5 - To tackle the dryness of the lips, Shella uses the Green Routine Multi-Purpose Balm from Modelsprefer. This multi-purpose balm will keep your lips looking fresh.
Step 6 - Finding a day cream that will support your make-up application is very important. Shella uses the Grown Alchemist’s Hydra Repair Day Cream - she recommends adjusting the layers of the cream according to your skin’s requirement.
Following the application of your day cream, applying a sunscreen as part of your daily routine is vital for your skin.
Step 7 - Perfectly prepped skin also includes the application of a concealer. MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter is perfect as it isn’t thick and adds a lot of light to your skin. Place on the sides of the face where you have some shadowing to make your skin look brighter.
Tip: To wear the brows naturally, brush them up slightly for a natural look.
Step 8 - To give a little more lustre across the high planes of the skin, Shella loves using MAC Strobe Cream Hydratant Lumineux that contains a highlight and skin care in the same product. Shella loves using the ‘Pinklite’ colour cream across the sides of the cheek and below the brow bone. Follow by applying some of Jurlique’s Rosewater Balancing Mist to keep your skin nice and hydrated.
Tip: Pop some of the MAC strobe cream across the lips, on the nose and chin to bring the light forward down the centre of the face.
Step 9 - One of the final steps for a perfect skin recommended by Shella is to use Clarins’ Santal Treatment Oil which is to be mixed with another product to create a potion that is easy to apply. This product will leave your skin looking beautiful and lustrous.
Tip: Be sure to apply the mixed potion onto your neck and across the body for an even glow of the neck area.
Step 10 -The final touch is to apply a little bit of Napoleon Perdis Gloss on the lips.

HOW TO ACHIEVE LIT SKIN
Do you want to create some lustre and make everything look like its voluptuous? Follow the steps outlined below and let your skin be the hero this season!
Step 1 - To achieve LIT skin, start by using Bioderma Micellar H20. For Shella, this is a do-not-leave-house-without product that creates the perfect start point allows for best longevity.
Step 2 - Shella also recommends using an eye shadow base such as the Painterly or Groundwork from MAC Eye shadow base’s paint pots. Using the back of your nail, grab only a small amount and apply on your hand first to achieve a fine, almost rubbed-in layer. Then use the fingertips to apply to the eyelids making sure you do not leave any crease marks.
Tip: You can also use the Groundwork paint pot to shape the eye socket using a brush. This will give a fresh and natural look to the eye.
Step 3 - To continue shaping the eye socket, Shella uses the Hourglass Radiant Bronze light from the NARS Afterglow palette. This palette offers a lot of light and medium tone shades perfect to help push some of your face’s feature back and some forward - dab some of the lighter shades on the centre of the eye.
To create more glow, Shella recommends using one of the medium shades and applying it underneath the eye using a brush. The next step is to use an eyelash curler followed by the Kevyn Aucoin Volume Mascara for extra volume of the eyelashes.
Step 4 - Shella then recommends spraying or patting the MAC fix+ setting spray onto the skin to help set the products. She then continues by applying Clarins Santal Treatment Oil to moisture the skin further and add an extra layer for the products to go on top of.
Step 5 - Now let’s brighten the face! To add instant light across the whole face, Shella evenly applies some of Modelsprefer Liquid Light Brightening Primer. To remove some of the shadows down on the side of the face, MAC Prep+Prime Concealer helps you add light to a more youthful, radiant and effortless look.
If you want to add a bit of foundation to your face, the MAC Face and Body Foundation is light and perfectly blends in the skin.
Tip: Make sure you apply some of the MAC Face and Body Foundation on the neck and chest to match the colour of the face.
Step 6 - To sculpt and create definition around the cheeks, using an illuminating palette. She recommends using an illuminating shade to bring more light to the side of the face.
For an ultimate lightning of the face, Shella uses Stila’s Incandescence and RMS Living Luminizer. The luminizer can be easily applied through the centre of the face – eyes, lips and last third of eyebrows to give a sun-kisses glow. You can then flush your cheeks with the luminous incandescence using a brush and your fingertips to pat it in.
Step 7 - Shella then uses the beautiful frosted section of the NARS Laguna Palette onto the top of the eyes to accentuate and create a voluptuous tone in the centre of the eye.
After everything looks radiant, Shella recommends using MAC Fix Plus Magic Radiance across the skin and rub it in for a longer lasting look. To finish off the skin, add a small amount of MAC Fix Plus Strobe Cream.
The final touch to this LIT skin preparation is the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil to give a casual and effortless structure to the lips.
