Last year, the Champions of the Future Mural Project transformed the Community Library and this year Grand Central is proud to unveil its' updated furniture designed by Indigenous Artists from across Australia.

The Ninderry Range is a unique collection of hand painted designs that are reproduced on sustainable, recycled commercial fabrics. Visit the Community Library on Level 1, near Athlete's Foot and check out the wonderful designs!

 

Shara Delaney - Giluma-jin Yari-nya 'Yarning Circles' & Dabilbahnba 'Saltwater Country'

Shara is a descendant of the Nunagal, Goenbal and Ngugi clan groups of Quandamooka Country in Queensland.

Giluma-jin Yari-nya represents people coming together, sharing knowledge, and strengthening relationships.

Dabilbahnba shows the many layers of Saltwater Country; the waves, ripples and coastal elements.

Sharing stories of country through art is an important part of Indigenous culture and we are excited to have their design displayed in the Community Library.Shara Delaney

Merryn Apma - Kwatya 'Waterholes' & Uterne 'Elements'

Merryn’s people are from the Arrernte Country west of Alice Springs.

Kwatya shows the desert, the special waterholes, camps and tracks connecting them.

Uterne features the different elements of weather patterns in the desert. The rain, the thunder, the lightning and the harsh Australian sun.

Sharing stories of country through art is an important part of Indigenous culture and we are excited to have their design displayed in the Community Library.
