Big Buddy Program
The Big Buddy program was developed to create intergenerational change by empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth to achieve their full potential. Youth engaged in Big Buddy are rewarded through an incentives program which encourages attendance, participation and positive behaviour. The Big Buddy program is for youth aged 12-17 years.
Cancer Council
On average, one Queenslander will be diagnosed with cancer every 20 minutes. Cancer Council Queensland is dedicated to improving quality of life for people living with cancer, through research, support, prevention and early detection.
Carbal Elders Group
The group aims to serve as a healing circle and a place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to come together for friendship, yarning and cultural activities.
Civic Assist
Civic Assist coordinates a number of services and initiatives, working with people of all ages and from all walks of life. Their team focuses on collaboration with our regional community to develop targeted and innovative programs that empower people today to equip them for a better tomorrow.
Domestic Violence Action Centre
The Domestic Violence Action Centre provides free and confidential services for people experiencing domestic, family, and sexual violence around Southeast Queensland.
It’s a Bloke Thing
The inaugural It’s a Bloke Thing Prostate Cancer Luncheon was held in Toowoomba in 2011 and has since become a significant fundraising event benefiting various men’s health and research programs, including the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
LifeFlight
LifeFlight Australia is a world leader in aeromedical care, with a core purpose to save lives and serve the community. The organisation delivers on its purpose every single day, through the provision of the LifeFlight rescue helicopter service, air ambulance jets service and the seamlessly coordinated suite of aviation and medical capabilities.
Lifeline Darling Downs and South West QLD
With the support of the community, Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Queensland is able to provide the services the community needs, allowing them to positively impact more and more lives each year.
Loads of Love
Loads of Love is an annual Christmas Appeal, first established in 2009. The core purpose is to provide support to people experiencing financial hardship. They do this by supplying generous bags of non-perishable food items to both individuals and families just before Christmas.
Project School Formal
Project School Formal was established in 2015 by two Toowoomba Hairdressing Salon Owners, Gay Hold and Paula Lucas. For many years they had heard the stories of families who simply could not afford to purchase new outfits for sons and daughters to attend their high school graduation. Often students, living independently away from home would also share that whilst it was a celebration to be finishing year 12, they couldn’t possibly see a way for them to celebrate this milestone with their classmates.
Protea Place
Protea Place is a local Toowoomba charity, established in late 2018 to assist vulnerable women in the region. Founder and CEO, Amanda Dalton, created the initiative based on over 20 years of experience in the social services sector after identifying significant gaps and the need to provide support services specific to women.
Sunrise Way
Sunrise Way was established in 2014 as a result the commitment and passion of the Toowoomba community in response to the need for an accessible, quality rehabilitation service. Recovery isn't just about stopping active addiction. It is about enabling an individual to live life on life's terms without the need to escape using drugs or alcohol.

The Business disABILITY Awards are well established and recognise those businesses and individuals who support, educate, advocate and employ people with a disability and celebrate inclusion.
Toowoomba Carnival Of Flowers
Since its inception in 1949, the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers has flourished and is now an iconic Queensland event. The event has extended from a 10 day program to 4 big weekends, capturing a variety of events including the Grand Central Floral Parade, Festival of Food and Wine and family events such as Cinema Under the Stars. There is always something to do and see in Toowoomba during carnival!
Toowoomba Hospital Foundation
Toowoomba Hospital Foundation raise funds for the Darling Downs Health Service in aid of providing extra medical equipment, resources, patient care programs, research, and staff training to help our hospitals deliver better experiences for their patients and their families.
