Insect enthusiast unite as four giant illuminated sculptures will crawl into Grand Central for an up close and personal encounter of a different kind.
Featuring a Neon Cuckoo Bee that hums, a Swallowtail Butterfly that knows when you're near, an Australian Jumping Spider and a reactive singing Cicada, the Mini Beasts span up to four metres tall and will be nesting at Grand Central until 18 February. While these beasts don’t bite, they do react to movement with captivating lights and bright, brilliant colours across their bodies, wings and antennae.
These beautiful creatures feature thousands of lights, with 2,800 alone on the Australian Swallowtail Butterfly and 1,500 on the Neon Cuckoo Bee! To interact with the Mini Beasts all you have to do is approach the sculpture for it to sense that you are close.
Once you have encountered all four Mini Beasts head to the Mini Beasts craft station on Level 1 to learn even more about these creatures while you enjoy colouring in, take home craft and more.
When: Monday 10 January - Friday 18 February
